Responsibilities

• Leads senior volunteer recruitment for branch; forms a Healthy Aging Volunteer Committee.
• Coordinates monthly calendar of events and classes for social interaction and activity.
• Conducts evaluations and collects feedback for group activities.
• Reports branch tracking numbers to Metro Offices as requested.
• Plans monthly social events for Silver Sneakers members (minimum 8 events).
• Inputs content for the In-Motion Newsletter by deadlines.
• Aims to meet budget, reach and volunteer engagement goals.
• Engages with RA and SS members by phone and email.

Position Summary:

Individual must have an interest in working with seniors, particularly those with a chronic conditions and health challenges. The Healthy Aging Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and delivery of 50 and Better (Senior programming) with guidance/support from the Branch Healthy Living Director. The HAC leads all aspects of senior volunteerism including recruitment of new volunteers, retention of existing volunteers and possibly supervision of volunteers. The HAC develops, plans and implements monthly engagement events to provide a social outlet to combat isolation and loneliness.

Essential Functions:

• Leads senior volunteer recruitment for branch; established a Healthy Aging Volunteer Committee (5-10 members).
• Coordinates monthly calendar of events and classes to promote an engaging environment for social interaction and physical activity to engage our paying Senior Members and those with Renew Active / SilverSneakers membership
• Conducts evaluations and feedback for group activities with assistance from Healthy Aging Volunteer
• Reports branch tracking numbers to the Metro Offices as requested
• Plan and execute a Monthly social events for Silver Sneaker members; minimum 8 events per
• Input content for monthly In-Motion Newsletter by the designated deadline
