Job summary

PatientIQ is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 4-6 engineer team and revamp our software experience with modern tech. You will mentor engineers, contribute hands-on coding, and drive agile rituals while steering production features with Product and design partners.

You have 8+ years in software and 3+ years in Rails, plus experience in healthcare software and startup environments. AI tooling experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software experience
• 3+ years of Ruby-on-Rails experience
• 1+ years of experience managing engineers
• Experience with healthcare software is a plus
• Comfortable in a startup environment with ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 4-6 engineers
• Be a player-coach with coding contributions
• Own team agile rituals (planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives)
• Lead production features with Product Managers and designers
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support production use of the software
• Champion performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
• Balance new development with technical debt and architectural improvements
• Lead adoption of AI tooling across development practices
