Job summary
El Paso Behavioral Health System is seeking a UR Coordinator to coordinate certification and recertification of insurance benefits during the patient’s stay and support the treatment team in discharge planning. You will work closely with external case managers and managed care organizations to ensure continued stay approvals and to understand payer requirements.
The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, mental health, nursing, or a related field, with at least two years
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or related degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- UR Coordinator contacts external case managers/managed care organizations for certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient’s stay and assists the treatment team in understanding the insurance company’s requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
- The UR Coordinator is responsible for having a thorough understanding of the patient’s treatment through communication with the treatment team.
