Job summary

Johnson County Government is seeking a part-time Health Services Support Professional to assist with medical appointments and care coordination for individuals with IDD. You will work with Health Services staff and families to ensure timely, high-quality healthcare services and support continuity of care.

The position requires a High School diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass criminal and motor vehicle background screenings, plus TB testing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
• Criminal and motor vehicle background screenings, including KDADS screenings and registry checks, and a post-offer TB test.
• Education/Experience substitutions: Education may be substituted for experience.
• Preferred: One year of related experience in a human services field.
• Preferred: Experience in IDD field (DSP, CNA, CMA, or LPN).

Responsibilities

• Attend and assist with scheduled medical appointments, primarily physical therapy, occupational therapy, and related rehab appointments.
• Provide coverage when Health Services staff are unavailable due to illness or scheduling conflicts.
• Communicate appointment outcomes, new orders, and follow-up needs to direct care staff and families.
• Assist with personal care during appointments and in the community as needed; administer medications as delegated.
• Respond to medical or behavioral emergencies following policy and training.
• Complete other administrative tasks as needed.
