The role protects staff and property from theft, damage, or hazards and may involve responding to potentially violent situations with professionalism.

The position emphasizes vigilant observation, effective communication, de-escalation, and collaboration with hospital staff to ensure patient safety and support high-quality care daily.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• The legal right to work in the United States.
• Active state-issued guard card and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Observe and remain vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, and unusual activity.
• Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check for unsafe conditions and security violations.
• Verbally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed.
• Inspect security devices and fire control equipment.
• Screen visitors and employees to expedite admittance to the facility.
• Respond to incidents such as fire, medical emergencies, or threats with calm urgency.
• Prepare logs and investigative reports for supervisors.
