Job summary

SSTAR in Fall River, MA is seeking a Security Staff member to safeguard inpatient and ambulatory facilities, monitor entrances, and assist during emergencies. The role involves rounds, access control, and coordination with front desk staff to ensure safety and confidentiality.

Candidates should have at least one year in a similar role, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. Bilingual abilities are a plus, with benefits including health, life, and disability coverage, plus PTO

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a similar security role.
• Experience with de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to handle unusual situations and emergencies.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a treatment team.
• Good health, grooming and professional conduct.
• Bilingual abilities (Spanish a plus).

Responsibilities

• Control entrance to building, verify authorization, and require sign-in with confidentiality form when entering residential units.
• Assist front office staff with answering phones.
• Monitor exterior areas and buildings; patrol parking areas during shift.
• Assist staff during emergencies.
• Assist with drop-offs and collecting client information.
• Make rounds regularly and escort clients off property when discharged.
• Record unusual events and incidents; communicate with on-call staff as needed.
• Snow removal and keeping entrances clear during inclement weather.
• Monitor security cameras and assist with parking lot duties.
• Other duties as required.

Hourly Wage Range: $17.50-18.50

The Security Staff is responsible for the overall security ofInpatient and Ambulatory buildings and grounds while on duty.

Schedule & Shift Information:

Location - 1010 S. Main St

Hours: M – W - 1PM – 6PM

& SAT & SUN - 5am – 1pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Controls entrance to building, insuring only authorized personnel.Ensures all persons sign in upon entering and sign confidentialityform if entering residential units.
• Assist front office staff with answering phones.
• Monitors any activity outside buildings to ensure security. Toursexterior of buildings and parking areas repeatedly during shift.
• Assists staff in the event of any emergencies.
• Assist front office staff with drop offs and taking client information.
• Make rounds regularly.
• Assist with discharges from unit and escort client off propertywhen administratively discharged.
• Records any unusual events or circumstances also; making sureincident reports are filled out correctly. Communicates with on-callstaff when necessary.
• Snow removal as needed. Keeps entrance ways accessible and free ofhazards especially during inclement weather including snow anddebris removal
• Able to lift 40lbs.
• Monitor security cameras for entire property.
• Assisting with parking lot duties.
• Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• At least one-year experience in similar role.
• Experience with de-escalation methods.
• Ability to manage unusual situations and assist in emergencies.
• Must have a valid Drivers License.
• Strong Oral and Written Skills.
• Ability to function effectively as a treatment team member.
• Evidence of good health, grooming and professional conduct.
• Possess awareness of own strengths and limitations.
• Bilingual/Spanish a plus.
