Job summary

Kettering Health is seeking a Police Officer to uphold security and safety across the hospital campus. You will provide proactive patrols, respond to emergencies, and enforce hospital policies while coordinating with leadership and local agencies.

The role supports patient care and operational reliability in line with the organization's mission and safety programs. Candidates must meet OPOTA requirements and possess a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy (OPOTA).
• Valid Ohio driver's license.
• Current OPOTA certification.
• BLS certification (required within six months of hire).
• Non-violent crisis intervention training (required within six months of hire).
• Firearms qualification (must pass bi-annual qualifications).
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a physical examination certifying fitness for duty, per Ohio Revised Code § 124.41.

Responsibilities

• Provide law enforcement services to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents; conduct proactive patrols and incident response.
• Enforce hospital policies and applicable laws in coordination with hospital leadership and local authorities.
• Support patient care and operational reliability in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
