Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Security Officer to support the Public Safety team. The role focuses on protection, safety, and customer service for patients, visitors, employees, and property across the Medical Center campus.

Responsibilities include patrolling facilities, responding to alarms and emergencies, providing escorts, directing traffic, and documenting activities using computer systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 1-3 years related work experience.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facility and grounds or maintain fixed post coverage, inspecting for hazards and unauthorized persons.
• Respond to calls for service, alarms, and emergencies; provide first aid and assist clinicians as needed.
• Provide escort for patients, visitors and employees to parking areas and facilities.
• Direct traffic and assist with parking to help navigation around the Medical Center.
• Use computer systems to document work activity and help visitors locate patients.
