Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a provider scheduling coordinator to maintain and coordinate provider schedules across departments. You will update calendars, communicate changes, and support patient inquiries while ensuring accuracy of chart and insurance data.

This role requires strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology. Located in East Stroudsburg, this onsite position supports the LVPG Gastroenterology team and participates in regular meetings and scheduling

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 years Experience in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate initiative.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely.
• Computer skills and word processing proficiency.
• Knowledge and working use of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Obtains all necessary information required to maintain provider schedules.
• Maintains overall coordination of provider availability to cover services as required by the practice including office hours, in-patient and out-patient, scheduled meetings and conferences, and vacation or time off.
• Monitors and updates schedule throughout the day and distributes changes to all affected parties.
• Anticipates patients’ expectations and educational needs; understands basic requirements for all procedures performed to be able to answer basic patient inquiries or to direct the inquires to the appropriate area or person.
• Monitors use of scheduled time and monitors schedule for conflicts.
• Updates patient charts and electronic health record information with pertinent patient and insurance information.
• Attends and participates in scheduled contract, committee, and all-staff meetings.
