Job summary

MVHC in Chicago is seeking a dedicated custodian to perform cleaning and sanitizing of all areas within a medical office, in compliance with health codes.

The role requires experience in a similar setting and familiarity with cleaning equipment; candidates should be able to organize tasks, work with minimal supervision, and handle physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and tools preferred.
• Ability to see a problem, find a solution, and follow through.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with time management.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining performance.
• Physical stamina and mobility for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, vacuums, mops, and scrubs floors using industry equipment.
• Dusts, washes walls, cleans ceilings, and polishes light fixtures; follows ladder safety.
• Move furniture to clean areas; remove stains from surfaces with chemicals.
• Clean windows and doors; perform incidental seasonal tasks.
• Clean all areas including restrooms, offices, exam rooms, and break areas.
• Sanitize all surfaces and follow OSHA infection control guidelines.
• Report maintenance issues; create maintenance tickets as needed.
• Work as part of a housekeeper team to maintain efficiency.
• Restock supplies and store cleaning equipment properly.
• Special projects or other duties as assigned by supervisor.
