We are hiring a Healthcare Safety and Security Officer for night shifts at Peace in Louisville.

Job Description Summary:

The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for surveillance of UL Health premises and the protection of staff, members, and visitors. The role involves detecting and preventing suspicious activities, observing and reporting incidents, and providing professional customer service.

Responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring premises for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
  • Patrolling on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical issues, and unauthorized access.
  • De-escalating situations verbally and physically as needed.
  • Inspecting security devices and fire safety equipment.
  • Screening visitors and staff for entry.
  • Responding to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, or hazardous materials.
  • Providing patient escorts and transporting deceased to the morgue as necessary.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Background check and drug screening required.
  • State/local licensing may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license for driving roles.
  • Completion of UofL Health Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Training.
