We are hiring for the position of Healthcare Safety and Security Officer - Peace, Days at UofL Health in Louisville.

Job Description Summary:

The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for surveillance of UL Health premises and the protection of staff, members, and visitors. Duties include detecting and preventing suspicious activity, observing and reporting incidents, and providing customer service professionally and courteously.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor premises for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
  2. Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical issues, and unauthorized individuals.
  3. De-escalate situations verbally and physically as needed.
  4. Inspect security devices and fire equipment.
  5. Screen visitors and staff for entry.
  6. Respond calmly to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, flooding, hazardous materials, or severe weather.
  7. Assist with patient escort, patient watch, and transport of deceased to morgue as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • At least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Background check and drug screening as per law.
  • State and local licensing requirements may apply.
  • Valid driver’s license required for driving roles.
  • Completion of UofL Health Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Training.
