We are hiring a Healthcare Safety and Security Officer at Peace - Louisville.

Job Description Summary:

The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for surveillance of UL Health premises and the protection of staff, members, and visitors. This role involves detecting and preventing suspicious activity, observing and reporting incidents, and providing customer service in a friendly and professional manner.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor premises for signs of crime, disorder, hazards, and unusual activity.
  • Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to check for unsafe conditions, security violations, mechanical issues, and unauthorized individuals.
  • De-escalate conflicts verbally and physically as needed.
  • Inspect security devices and fire safety equipment.
  • Screen visitors and members to facilitate entry.
  • Respond calmly and promptly to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, flooding, hazardous materials, or severe weather.
  • Assist with patient escort, patient watch, safety escorts, and transport of deceased to morgue if required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (Certificates of Completion are not acceptable).
  • Subject to background investigation and drug screening as per legal requirements.
  • State/local licensing requirements may apply and must be met prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions.
  • Completion of UofL Health Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness Training is mandatory.
