Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Revenue Cycle Analyst to provide operational support, analytics and reporting across the hospital’s Business Office. This role collaborates with SMEs to summarize, analyze and report financial data, and to support performance improvement and reconciliation.

Duties include analyzing claims, performing variance analyses, creating audit plans, documenting processes and interpreting billing regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze claims and remittance data and present findings to leadership.
• Perform variance and trend analyses via spreadsheets, databases and dashboards.
• Create audit and reconciliation plans for charges, adjustments, and denials.
• Document and validate billing processes and system configurations.
• Interpret billing regulations and third-party contracts.
