Job summary

BVHS is seeking a Buyer in the Materials Management Department to issue purchase orders, review requisitions, and ensure best value for supplies. The role emphasizes cost analysis, supplier management, and adherence to BVHS purchasing policies.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and strong interpersonal skills. Preferred qualifications include a business degree and health care purchasing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills."
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
• Two years purchasing experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Knowledge of supply contract basics preferred.
• Accounts payable knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Purchases medical and miscellaneous supplies to ensure best value and lowest cost.
• Review, approve and release requisitions for routine supplies.
• Monitor costs and perform price trend analysis to avoid unnecessary increases.
• Complete purchasing documents accurately and timely for open order control.
• Research supply availability and alternate supplies as requested by end-users.
• Expedite open orders and keep users informed of status and changes to due dates.
• Review contractual arrangements under BVHS’ GPO affiliations for best value.
