Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; substitution allowed with related experience.
• Two years of professional compliance/privacy experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, CMIA and related privacy laws.
• Strong analytical, organizational and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit organizational operations for compliance with healthcare privacy and information security laws and standards.
• Develop corrective action plans and conduct compliance investigations while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor policies to ensure patient privacy protections and provide guidance to staff on HIPAA, HITECH, CMIA and related laws.
• Document and retain investigation notes; track and report findings.
• Assist with staff training on regulatory privacy and compliance.
• Under supervision, provide guidance to departments on privacy and auditing matters; document findings and prepare reports.
• Direct, train, assign, and evaluate subordinate clerical or technical personnel in standard tasks.
