Job summary

Winslow Indian Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Referral Coordinator to manage Purchased Referred Care (PRC) referrals for Dilkon Medical Center and WIHCC, ensuring eligibility and coordinating specialty services. The role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail and adherence to privacy standards.

The position supports the Nurse Manager and RN Case Manager, works across departments, and promotes fiscally responsible use of PRC funds while maintaining excellent

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; 2 years in administrative support, billing, and purchasing in a healthcare setting.
• Bilingual English and Navajo preferred.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license; background check; suitable requirements for a Child Care position.

Responsibilities

• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
• Greets visitors, patients, families, staff and physicians; maintains professional telephone courtesy.
• Screens PRC eligibility and ensures proper documentation for referrals.
• Determines eligibility and coordinates referrals based on medical priority.
• Works with RN Case Manager or Clinical Director to obtain necessary information.
• Monitors referral billing and close-out of purchase orders.
• Assists patients in understanding eligibility and program limitations; documents education.
• Ensures referrals entered into RCIS and EHR accurately and timely.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to policies and procedures.
