Job summary

BRG, through its Healthcare Transactions and Strategy (HTS) practice in Washington, DC, seeks a Policy Analyst to support policy teams with research and quantitative analysis. You will evaluate policy proposals, model Medicare/Medicaid implications, and translate complex questions into practical research plans for clients.

The role blends qualitative and quantitative work, requiring strong policy knowledge, data analytics skills, and the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; graduate degree preferred.
• At least four years of healthcare policy/consulting experience.
• Experience with quantitative research addressing policy, reimbursement, or business questions.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret federal and state healthcare legislation and policy implications.
• Support policy development by evaluating options and developing evidence-based recommendations.
• Define evidence needs, select datasets and methods, assess effects on spending and access.
• Develop data analytics specifications and collaborate with analysts on methods and results.
• Conduct analyses quantifying policy and reimbursement impacts on organizations and populations.
• Build Excel-based models to evaluate payment methodologies and compare scenarios.
• Validate results against benchmarks and document limitations.
• Explain findings to clients with clear, non-technical messaging.
• Prepare client-ready presentations and summaries for internal and external audiences.
• Take ownership of work streams and flag potential issues early.
• Contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and development of new analytical tools.
