Job summary

TheDesignGroup in its healthcare practice seeks a remote Healthcare Planner to lead planning, programming and master planning for healthcare projects, coordinating with DG teams and translating clinical needs into functional space program requirements.

You will interface with clients, guide design direction, and ensure adherence to industry best practices while supporting multiple project teams remotely.

Qualifications

• Registered Architect highly preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in healthcare programming, planning and design with ability to develop facility programs and designs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project from master plan through design development.
• Perform facility programming and planning tasks.
• Existing conditions assessment and coordination with engineers.
• Zoning and building code research and assessment.
• Translate service line needs into functional space programs.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and develop master plan options.
• Document master plan concepts clearly in written and graphic formats.
• Lead schematic plan development for healthcare projects.
• Contribute to site design, building interiors, and external design coordination.
• Lead design input meetings with users and stakeholders.
• Assist in cost estimates and scheduling, and maintain programming databases.

DesignGroup has a growing healthcare practice.We’re seeking a remote Healthcare Planner who’s a “thought leader”.

_ Note: This role requires monthly travel to Ohio._

In this role you’ll provided leadership (both client and internal DG team) and design direction for all aspects of planning, design and documentation for healthcare projects with focus on Facility Programming and Master Planning, and Schematic Design phases.

As a “Thought Leader” in the firm, you’ll partner with other planners and designers at DG to understand and apply industry best practice and leading-edge trends to create/maintain competitive advantage.

You’ll also act as an Account Manager responsible for ongoing customer relations with select customers during times of project work and times when no projects are being performed.

Education and/or Experience

• Registered Architect highly preferred
• 5+years’ experience in and commitment to healthcare programming/planning/design with a demonstrated ability to develop facility programs and designs in compliance with client needs and industry best practice.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• ACHA, LEED AP, and EDAC preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead a project and perform the necessary work from the master plan phase through design development
• Perform all aspects of facility programming/planning

• Service line volume assessment and translation into a Functional and Space Program.

• Contribute/influence site design – work coordinated with Landscape Design.
• Contribute/influence exterior building design – work coordinated with Designer.
• Contribute/influence building interior – work coordinated with Interior Designer.
• Lead design input meetings with users/stakeholders.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and schedules.
