Ocean Beach Health is seeking a Materials Management Manager to oversee procurement, inventory, and equipment across the hospital and clinics. The role reports to the CEO and drives cost‑effective supply management, vendor relations, and interdepartmental communication to support high‑quality patient care.

You will lead a team, ensure policy compliance, and maintain reliable supply chains while fostering patient‑centered service and financial stewardship.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business or related field or 3–5 years of management experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate suppliers and determine best value.
• Effective decision‑making skills with the ability to select needed products efficiently.
• Excellent negotiating skills and vendor communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage, distribution, and related activities.
• Review and approve purchase orders and non‑stock requests.
• Maintain relationships with departments to understand supply needs and specifications.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance as the primary contact.
• Provide CFO-related administrative support through reports, budgets, and utilization analysis.
• Lead PAR level management and ensure adequate supply levels organization‑wide.
• Coordinate product evaluations and participate in vendor assessments.
• Ensure safe handling of hazardous substances and MSDS guidance.
• Oversee leases for large items and establish emergency supply sources.
• Interview sales reps and solicit proposals for supplies and equipment.
• Supervise staff through hiring, training, and evaluations.
