Job summary

SRI Healthcare, LLC is hiring a Soil Sorter for our Mebane, NC healthcare laundry facility. You will follow SOPs, sort linen, weigh loads, and operate washing equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and good communication with supervisors. We offer a full-time, in-person position with a starting pay of $12.00 per hour and LTD benefits.

Qualifications

• Able to follow directions and procedures accurately.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
• Keep accurate records of laundry poundage by hospital.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Meet productivity standards and work quickly.
• Able to multitask; self-motivated / self-starter.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Able to read and understand SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Open laundry carts and empty hamper bags onto sorting table.
• Sort linen by fabric type.
• Weigh sorted loads and send linen to washers via negative air system; operate laundry equipment in auto or manual mode.
• Identify instruments, sharp items, hospital-owned linen, and other foreign objects; place in appropriate receptacles.
• Place empty laundry carts in cart wash; operate washing machinery.
• Process through dishwasher or commercial washer; wash all stainless basins.
• Clean and disinfect soil sort area at end of shift.
• Mentor / train fellow associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
