Job summary

NHC HealthCare Cookeville is seeking a detail-oriented Laundry Aide to sort, wash, dry and fold linens, ensuring cleanliness and safety. You will follow center policies and operate standard and commercial laundry equipment.

The role requires ability to read Standard English, following instructions, lifting up to 40 pounds, standing most of the day, and reporting equipment issues to supervision.

Qualifications

• Must read Standard English.
• Must be able to operate standard and commercial laundry machinery.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Report to laundry at the assigned time and gather dirty laundry as instructed.
• Load washers with dirty linens and prepare linen for morning change.
• Keep dirty linen separate from clean linen at all times.
• Check water temperature of each washing machine to be sure it is at least 150°.
• Clean lint traps and monitor detergents/softeners/bleach per center policy.
• Operate washing machines and dryers per policy and procedures.
• Remove clean laundry from washer, fold and store as required.
• Inform supervisor of equipment problems for repairs.
