Job summary

Rochester Restorative Care Center is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to maintain clean linens and residents' clothing, supporting a safe and hygienic environment in a nursing home setting.

You will operate commercial washers and dryers, follow infection control guidelines, label and deliver laundry, and help uphold supply levels while staying mindful of resident comfort and safety. PPE and safety procedures are essential in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sort, wash, dry, and fold residents’ clothing, bedding, towels, and facility linens.
• Follow infection control and sanitation guidelines to prevent the spread of illness.
• Handle soiled laundry safely, including items contaminated with bodily fluids.
• Operate and maintain commercial washers, dryers, and laundry equipment.
• Label and organize residents’ personal clothing to ensure proper return.
• Deliver clean laundry to resident rooms and nursing units in a timely manner.
• Inspect linens and clothing for stains, damage, or wear and rewash or report as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room.
• Monitor inventory of linens and report shortages or supply needs.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of chemicals and PPE.
