Job summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker to support the dietary services team. You will clean and sanitize production areas, operate dishwashing equipment, and help ensure a safe, efficient food service environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining supplies, assisting with tray assembly as needed, and adhering to established sanitation and safety procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. Variable shifts available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain sanitation standards.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sanitation equipment and organize work areas.
  • Operate dishwashing/sanitation equipment or clean items manually.
  • Ensure items are cleaned, sanitized, and dried.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean dishes and service ware.
  • Transport cleaned items to production and service areas.
  • Disassemble and clean sanitation equipment regularly.
  • Clean food production equipment following guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all production and sanitation areas.
  • Follow recycling procedures and sort recyclables.
  • Transport recyclables to storage areas.
  • Remove and transport trash to disposal areas.
  • Maintain trash carts and compactors.
