Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of health department regulations for food handling.
• Ability to maintain clean, organized kitchen areas.
• Ability to follow meal schedules and portion control.
• Maintain inventory and notify supervisor of low stock.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and assist with supplies.
• English communication and basic math required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals promptly per schedule.
• Secure pantry, refrigerators, freezers and kitchen doors after shifts.
• Log refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher temperatures daily.
• Comply with health department regulations and standards.
• Maintain professional relations with patients.
• Report needs or problems to the Food Service Supervisor.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Notify shift lead of patient concerns as needed.
• Clean appliances, utensils and dishes after meals.
• Store and stock supplies; inform supervisor of low inventories.
• In supervisor’s absence, senior staff oversees the department.
• Keep accurate daily temperature records for storage areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
