Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year food preparation experience preferred in healthcare, hotel, or high-volume setting.
• Allergen Awareness Certification (VA) within 180 days (required).
• Food Handlers Card (VA) within 30 days (required).
• Food Protection Manager Certification (VA) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food items for patient and non-patient food services following recipes and cooking instructions.
• Maintains knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance to prevent cross-contamination.
• Ensures timely, accurate meal service with a focus on patient/customer satisfaction.
• Follows therapeutic menus and allergy guidelines to ensure safe, quality nutrition.
• Performs prep work: slicing deli meat, chopping vegetables, prepping salads and sandwiches, grill and pizza prep as needed.
• Uses kitchen equipment properly and maintains clean, sanitized work areas.
