Job summary

South Dakota State Government is seeking an IT Product Manager to lead product strategy for Behavioral Health and the Human Services Center, Medicaid, and the Secretary's Office. The role requires collaborating with division leadership, SMEs, clinicians, operations, and IT teams to align technology initiatives with department goals.

The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of IT product ownership experience, plus a track record in managing product lifecycles, SDLC, and a project management

Qualifications

• 4-5 years' experience as an IT product owner or related IT field.
• Preference for experience managing a product lifecycle (SDLC) and/or PMP or similar certification.

Responsibilities

• Define, prioritize, and guide technology initiatives to strengthen clinical operations and data management.
• Collaborate with leadership, SMEs, clinicians, operations, and IT teams to co-create solutions.
• Maintain and refine product backlog and roadmaps.
• Lead project plans, timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and regulatory compliance.
