United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior Software Engineer to advance Healthcare Interoperability. You will design and build core integration primitives to connect our AI agents with EHRs and healthcare systems of record, enabling safe data exchange and scalable workflows.

The role requires 8+ years of hands-on software engineering, strong HIPAA compliance experience, and deep knowledge of FHIR/HL7, OAuth, and major EHR platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Deep experience shipping production healthcare integrations under HIPAA, privacy, and compliance constraints.
• Strong technical fluency with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) and patterns.
• Experience building integrations with major EHRs or healthcare platforms (Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, eClinicalWorks, MEDITECH).
• Strong product and platform judgment: reusable primitives vs. customer-specific needs.
• Comfort working directly with customers (EHR analysts, security, executives) while writing code.

Responsibilities

• Own production integrations with systems such as Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, eClinicalWorks, MEDITECH, and related APIs and data formats.
• Build reusable platform capabilities for healthcare data access, write-back workflows, and security features.
• Partner with Agent Engineers to design and ship healthcare workflows (appointment scheduling, patient intake, care navigation, CRM updates).
• Serve as a technical SME with customers’ EHR, IT, security, and operations teams.
• Help define the company’s standards for safe healthcare agent actions (validation, idempotency, permissions, PHI safeguards).
