Job description

We partner with regional payers to deliver Medicare Advantage and Special Needs Plan products.

With a dual focus on data-driven, proactive clinical intervention and unwaveringly empathetic patient experience, Belong has completely reimagined health insurance for seniors and other Medicare-eligible individuals who have been disregarded and deprioritized for far too long.

We believe that only by recognizing individuals can we make communities strong.

Belong Health. Kinder, more supportive care.

Belong Health is looking for a skilled Implementation Leader to spearhead the successful execution of new partner implementations. This role encompasses the entire implementation lifecycle, from pre-signature planning through post-signature execution and transition into steady-state operations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong cross-functional leadership, possess in-depth knowledge of healthcare operations and regulatory requirements, and excel in managing complex relationships with partners and vendors while achieving measurable business outcomes.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans to launch clinical programs tailored to partner populations.
  • Document operational requirements across various departments, including clinical operations, sales and marketing, product design, provider engagement, and technical/analytics delivery teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of necessary legislative and regulatory filings (e.g., NOIA, Model of Care).
  • Manage vendor relationships, including evaluation, selection, contracting, and oversight of SLAs and transition planning.
  • Align partners with the go-live plan, outlining implementation timelines, phase gates, and responsibilities.
  • Draft and oversee governance frameworks, including success criteria, KPIs, escalation paths, and issue resolution processes.
  • Prevent scope creep and oversee invoicing for implementation services as applicable.
  • Direct project management activities, including schedule development, capacity planning, task coordination with SMEs, and validation of acceptance criteria.
  • Provide regular project health updates, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Facilitate the formal transition from implementation to ongoing business and technical operations.
  • Support the handoff to Client Management teams, ensuring operational readiness through reviews with SMEs and partners.
  • Finalize first-year budget expectations linked to revenue (membership, RAF, premium), administrative costs, and medical loss ratio (MLR).

Required Professional Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare implementation, program management, or strategic operations. Consulting experience within payer or provider organizations is a plus.
  • Proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in healthcare delivery, payer-provider integration, or health-tech.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory filings (e.g., Model of Care) and operational workflows.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, particularly in value-based care, Medicare Advantage, Dual Special Needs Plans, C-SNP Plans, CMS/CMMI programs, and Accountable Care Organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and oversight.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Travel

  • This is a remote position that may require up to 50% travel for meetings with potential partners and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

SALARY

  • $135,000 - $185,000
