Job summary

Responsibilities include floor care, vacuuming, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, window and curtain care, infection control, dusting, furniture movement for thorough cleaning, and ensuring clean conditions

Qualifications

• None, on-the-job training is provided
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience with healthcare housekeeping or environmental services preferred

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, damp mops, and wet mops tile floors following center procedures
• Vacuums carpeted rooms
• Empties trash cans, cleans exterior and interior areas, replaces liners
• Cleans bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets
• Cleans glass surfaces including mirrors and windows
• Cleans behind and underneath furnishings
• Follows infection control standards during cleaning
• Prevents/removes wax and dirt buildup in corners, baseboards, and doorways
• Changes soiled privacy curtains and draperies for outside windows as needed
• Removes and rehangs curtains and draperies for outside windows using a ladder
• Dusts and damp cleans surfaces in patient/resident rooms
• Moves furniture to clean behind/underneath
