Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah is seeking a Maintenance Worker II – Grounds for a full-time role focused on groundskeeping across the facility. The position may offer opportunities to learn general building maintenance skills within a healthcare setting.

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7am–3:30pm, 40 hours per week, with some holiday weekends as needed. A minimum of 3 years in grounds/irrigation is preferred and a valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Some experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance.
• Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
• Willingness to work hard and to learn.
• A valid drivers license may be required for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining the appearance, condition, and safety of facility grounds, landscaping, parking areas, irrigation systems, and related equipment to meet seasonal needs.
• Assignments may include planting, fertilizing, clipping, pruning, mowing, blowing, weeding, shoveling snow, plowing, irrigation monitoring, and applying chemical control products.
• Demonstrates knowledge in landscape maintenance, including irrigation systems, and the use of insecticides and herbicides on turf, trees, and flowerbeds.
