Job summary

The Office of the Attorney General in Maine seeks a Detective to join the Healthcare Crimes Unit (HCU) within the Criminal Division, based in Augusta. The role involves investigating and prosecuting fraud in MaineCare and protecting residents in healthcare facilities.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field with four years of law enforcement or investigative experience; certification as a full-time law enforcement officer in Maine is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related area with four (4) years’ law enforcement or investigative experience.
• Equivalent related experience and/or training may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in financial fraud investigations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and prosecute fraud in the MaineCare program and fraud in medical assistance providers.
• Investigate and prosecute allegations of abuse and neglect in health care facilities.
• Position is located in Augusta within the Healthcare Crimes Unit of the Criminal Division.
