Job summary

Job Juncture seeks an experienced AVP of Financial Planning & Analysis for a senior role in Ithaca, NY. This hybrid, full-time position partners with C-suite and operational leaders to drive financial performance, develop models, and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, ROI evaluations, market analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Requires 5+ years in healthcare FP&A, proficiency in Power BI/Tableau, SQL/Python, and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare financial analysis, planning, and budgeting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with enterprise analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, and/or other coding languages.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and statistical-analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, regulations, and industry trends.
• Advanced Excel and financial/database-system skills.
• Strong strategic-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial leaders.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including developing and mentoring financial professionals.
• Preferred: MBA or other advanced degree.
• Experience with enterprise healthcare FP&A and strategic investments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Partner with executive and operational leadership to establish financial targets and monitor performance against budget and forecast.
• Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends, investigate variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop sophisticated financial models and pro formas for investments, acquisitions, divestitures, new initiatives, and strategic opportunities.
• Perform scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and return-on-investment evaluations.
• Analyze revenue streams, expenses, reimbursement, denial trends, and cost structures to identify opportunities for improved financial performance.
• Support strategic planning and enterprise decision-making through financial and statistical analysis.
• Evaluate opportunities for market expansion, new service lines, service-line enhancements, and other growth initiatives.
• Develop financial plans, performance metrics, and business cases for individual service lines.
• Analyze market share, competitive trends, and other external data to identify opportunities for growth and improved competitiveness.
• Analyze revenue-cycle performance and denial information and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement financial and operational best practices.
• Serve as a strategic financial advisor to department and service-line leaders.
• Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Lead, mentor, and develop FP&A professionals while establishing consistent analytical, modeling, and reporting practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial planning, reporting, analytics, and decision-support processes.
