Job summary

Effingham Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to keep patient areas and facilities clean, safe, and sanitized in accordance with healthcare guidelines. The role requires self-motivation and the ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include selecting cleaning materials, operating floor care machines, dust mopping, trash disposal, and assisting with room setups and relocations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 months of related floor tech experience preferred.
• Healthcare or related industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, and aseptic condition.
• Load carts, transport supplies, and follow infection control and safety standards.
• Operate electric floor machines and vacuum cleaners; scrub, finish, and polish floors.
• Dust mop floors and manage debris; collect and dispose of trash and hazardous waste.
• Assist with room setups, moves, and meetings; attend trainings.
