Job summary

Bayhealth is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to manage PP&E for the Kent Campus and affiliated facilities. You will maintain the fixed asset subledger, record capital additions, disposals, and impairments, and ensure GAAP compliance and accurate depreciation.

This role supports CIP projects, ASC 842 lease accounting, asset tagging, year‑end close, and audit readiness. A Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and 3 years’ healthcare accounting experience are required; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Healthcare accounting experience required
• 3 years accounting experience
• Preferred: 5 years healthcare or regulated industry experience, including construction accounting and large capital projects

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger for hospitals and related entities.
• Record capital asset additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments, including high‑value medical equipment (MRI, CT scanners).
• Calculate and post monthly depreciation and amortization.
• Manage construction‑in‑progress (CIP) accounts related to facility expansions, renovations, and new sites; coordinate timely project capitalization.
• Track and monitor leased assets in compliance with ASC 842.
