Job summary

Highland Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia seeks a Controller to lead the finance team and oversee accounting, payroll, budgeting, and reporting. The role ensures GAAP compliance, month-end closings, and accurate financial statements while partnering with executives and department heads.

The Controller will drive process improvements, monitor internal controls, and coordinate audits, staffing, and training to sustain financial health and regulatory adherence in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Five or more years’ accounting experience required, healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with GAAP, budgeting, and financial reporting is essential.
• Experience with AP and Payroll software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates all financial administration and accounting activities.
• Oversees monthly closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Manages budgeting, audits, and interfaces with CFO and leadership.
• Provides guidance to staff, staffing plans, and performance management.
