Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support hospital campuses, satellite facilities, and the Support Center. You will perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, read blueprints, and ensure safe, compliant operation in a complex healthcare environment.

The role requires 3 years of trade experience, HVAC or related certifications preferred, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

3 years of experience in trade work including electricity, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and related trades.
HVAC Certification and/or Universal Refrigeration Certification preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics; knowledge of healthcare facility systems.

Responsibilities

Performs planned and general maintenance on systems and equipment, including inspecting, testing, maintaining, installing, and repairing.
Maintains records/logs of all work in mechanical rooms and a thorough knowledge of major building systems operations and valve locations.
Uses hand, diagnostic, and power tools related to plant equipment, observing safety procedures.
Keeps tools, equipment, and mechanical rooms organized and clean.
Assists Engineering Coordinator in purchasing parts and materials for maintenance per procedures.
Meets in-service requirements and complies with infection control, safety and OSHA standards.
