Job summary

Spring River Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to support daily maintenance and physical plant needs of our skilled nursing community.

This hands-on role involves routine repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment upkeep, and coordinating with leadership to keep resident rooms and common areas safe, clean, and well maintained. Teamwork and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are essential.
• Basic knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs is a plus.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting or general repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine maintenance and repair assignments throughout the facility.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, flooring, and general building repairs within training and ability.
• Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, doors, locks, furniture, and other facility items as appropriate.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders.
• Troubleshoot basic maintenance concerns and report larger issues to maintenance leadership.
• Assist with maintaining resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, dining areas, and common spaces.
