Job summary

The C.W. Bill Young VA Healthcare System in Bay Pines, FL seeks a Project Engineer to plan, design, manage construction, and provide construction administration for Minor Construction, Non-Recurring Maintenance, Station Level Projects and Leases in diverse engineering disciplines.

Applicants must meet formal education and licensure requirements or equivalent experience; experience with healthcare environments and regulatory standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, civil engineering principles and their healthcare applications.
• Knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements (TJC, OSHA, NFPA).
• Knowledge of construction standards, methods and materials for compliance.
• Skill in researching and analyzing information to inform engineering decisions.
• Ability to plan and execute complex multi-faceted projects and inspections.
• Ability to organize and lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead healthcare engineering programs from planning to implementation.
• Coordinate design, construction, and commissioning activities with clinical stakeholders and contractors.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture
