Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS seeks a skilled Facilities Painter/Facilities Specialist to perform painting, finishing, repair and general facilities maintenance in our healthcare environment.

You will prepare interior and exterior surfaces, repair walls and ceilings, operate hand and power tools, document work in the maintenance system, and coordinate with the Facilities Management team to minimize disruption.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in facilities maintenance, building operations or related experience or training.
• 2 years experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional painting preferred.
• Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation methods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting and finishing; patch, caulk, and finish surfaces.
• Apply paints and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment; match colors and maintain supplies.
• Install and maintain wall coverings and finishes; inspect and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Operate hand and power tools; perform basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical or carpentry tasks as needed.
• Coordinate work schedules to minimize disruption to patients and staff; document work in the CMMS.
