Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is seeking a Facilities Painter for VCU Community Memorial Hospital on the first shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday to Friday). The role focuses on interior and exterior wall finishes, patching, and trim installation to maintain a safe, professional environment.

You will select paints and tools, prepare surfaces, and complete tasks such as caulking, color matching, and installing wall coverings.

Qualifications

• 1 year of trade school or 2 years of experience as Painter in a similar sized institution.
• Some lifting of medium and/or heavy equipment and tools.
• Some exposure to extreme degrees of heat, noise, dust and dirt areas requiring infection control.

Responsibilities

• Selects proper tools and equipment for painting projects.
• Prepares surfaces including cleaning, minor repair and patching of metals, wood, masonry, and glazing as necessary.
• Transports material and equipment to the job site and maintains time reports.
• Prepares site by covering furniture, equipment and floors with drop cloths and masking doors, windows and trim where required.
• Performs caulking, sanding, taping, application of special finishes and color matching.
• Installs wall coverings and similarly applied materials.

Education

Trade school or 2 years painting experience
