Job summary
New Vista Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a dependable, skilled Maintenance Worker / Handyman to join our team. The role focuses on general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across the facility.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with painting, plumbing, electrical work, and sheetrock repairs, and can troubleshoot and complete tasks independently while maintaining a safe, clean work environment. Healthcare facility maintenance experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, handyman, or building repair experience.
- Knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical work, and sheetrock repairs.
- General handyman skills across a range of tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently.
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Healthcare facility or nursing home maintenance experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete painting, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs.
- Perform sheetrock installation, patching, and repairs.
- Maintain walls, doors, floors, fixtures, and other facility components.
- Troubleshoot and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Respond to maintenance requests and follow facility procedures.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
