Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a healthcare institution.
• NJ High Pressure Black Seal License required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license required- subject to driving record review
• Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated detailed instructions in writing and orally.
• Must have a demonstrated expertise in one trade required to meet the vacancy, comprehensive understanding of plant operation and skills in various trades including carpentry, painting, electrical, pluming, HVAC, and mechanical repairs.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and drills.
• Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Maintain logs following departmental guidelines.
• Identify system failures and troubleshoot to restore operation.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
• Mentor and guide less experienced mechanics.
• Plan layouts and installations; fabricate materials as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on medical vacuum and air pumps.
• Repair HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and related equipment.
• Read blueprints accurately and complete work on time.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
