Job summary

Redmont Health and Rehabilitation Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to lead daily and long‑term facility maintenance at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Director or similar leadership role in a healthcare facility.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, boilers, generators, and building maintenance.
• Understanding healthcare facility regulations and life safety compliance.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facility maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, and Life Safety Code regulations (CMS and NFPA).
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules, logs, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct routine inspections of resident rooms, common areas, equipment, and grounds.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate outside vendors and contractors.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergency facility issues.
• Support state surveys, inspections, and plans of correction as needed.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
