Job summary

North Okaloosa Medical Center Environmental Service Worker I maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing cleaning, floor care, and waste management in assigned areas, following hygiene and regulatory standards to support patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities include sanitizing surfaces, restocking supplies, handling waste per safety protocols, operating cleaning equipment, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of cleaning or environmental service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
• Understanding of infection control and safety standards.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively and safely.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, and visitors.
• Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift or move objects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other workspaces.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts floors, furniture, and equipment.
• Performs maintenance of hard and carpeted surfaces per procedures.
• Washes walls, ceilings, windows, woodwork, and other surfaces to maintain cleanliness.
• Restocks supplies in designated areas and monitors inventory.
• Handles trash and biohazardous materials safely per safety protocols.
• Operates and maintains cleaning equipment and reports malfunctions.
• Assists with minor repairs or maintenance tasks and reports larger issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
