Job summary

Wheeling Hospital seeks an Environmental Services Associate to keep patient and facility areas clean and orderly according to established procedures. You will clean rooms, offices and public spaces, remove trash, and ensure supplies are stocked while reporting maintenance needs to supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma and ability to operate floor equipment, maintain safety standards, and adapt to varied shifts to support hospital operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks and operate floor equipment.
  • Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard.
  • Must be able to read and follow written work assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects and ensures assigned areas are cleaned and in good repair; report issues to the supervisor.
  • Cleans patient rooms, exam rooms, public areas, toilets, procedure rooms, OR rooms, offices and equipment per procedures.
  • Removes trash from all assigned areas.
  • Replenishes paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in all locations of assigned areas to maintain supplies.
  • Makes beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
  • Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition and reports problems to the supervisor.
  • Moves equipment, furniture, boxes, wash walls, spot carpets as assigned.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation regulations.
