Job summary

Mercyhealth in Wisconsin is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, sanitary patient environment. You will perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms and common areas, replenish supplies, and follow infection prevention standards.

You’ll operate cleaning equipment, use Xenex UV light where available, and coordinate with departments for the next patient. The role requires attention to safety, proper chemical handling, and the ability to lift and move furniture.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cleaning experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Thorough cleaning of assigned areas including furniture, tile, fixtures, windows, sinks, tubs, mirrors, and showers.
• Dusting, mopping floors, cleaning elevators and stairs, door frames, vents, and carpets.
• Maintain EVS closet, EVS cart and equipment in order; report safety hazards or repairs.
• Replenish supplies and ensure DOP packaging and waste handling per policy.
• Use PPE correctly; follow isolation and infection prevention standards; operate specialized cleaning equipment.
• Move furniture and equipment following safety and lifting procedures; seek assistance as needed.
• Log into EPIC as required; respond promptly to paging; prepare dismissal rooms for next patient.
