Job summary

Sanford Health Bemidji is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors and staff in Bemidji Medical Center.

Responsibilities include floor cleaning, waste removal, infection control, and assisting in laundry as needed; position may require lifting up to 40-50 lbs and standing most of the shift; hours vary including weekends.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required.
• Must fulfill the annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-services.
• Employee must have knowledge in general day-to-day housekeeping tasks in each of the various departments/areas of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient rooms and assigned areas by following infection control and safety guidelines.
• Perform cleaning tasks including emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors.
• Assist in the laundry areas as appropriate and use Sanford technology applications as needed.
• Lift and move up to 40-50 lbs and stand for the majority of shifts; work hours vary, including weekends and holidays.
