Job summary

Housekeeping Attendant (Downey, CA) at Downey Medical Center seeks applicants to clean and maintain assigned areas and perform environmental service duties to keep a neat, sanitary, and safe environment around the medical center.

Under general supervision, you will follow policies, clean equipment and areas including rooms, beds, bathrooms, and floors, operate cleaning equipment, handle waste per procedures, and coordinate housekeeping with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Upholds KP's Policies & Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal & local laws
• Cleans equipment, surgical areas, storage areas, furniture & beds
• Cleans spills and flooded areas
• Deep cleans, sanitizes rooms, mattresses, vents, and bathrooms
• Operates electrical cleaning equipment
• Strips, cleans, and polishes floor & wall surfaces; vacuum carpet areas
• Dilutes cleaning solutions
• Collects and disposes of waste including bio‑hazardous medical waste according to Policies & Procedures, ensuring bio‑hazardous waste is stored and locked in approved areas
• Coordinates housekeeping functions with other departments
• May perform other duties as required
