Job summary

ChristianaCare's Environmental Services team seeks an Environmental Services Assistant I to maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment in patient areas and clinical spaces. This role supports infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory readiness while delivering courteous service to patients and staff.

The position is full-time, day shift (7am–3:30pm) with a starting hourly rate of $17.80. Progression details include04 within six months to $20.90 and after one year to $21.93 per

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in environmental services or healthcare is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, isolation rooms, clinical spaces, procedural areas, and high-touch surfaces per infection control standards.
• Use approved cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, dilution systems, and PPE to ensure safe cleaning.
• Follow protocols to reduce infection risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Identify and report environmental or safety hazards and maintenance needs.
• Maintain cleaning carts, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, stocked condition.
• Transport and dispose of waste safely and according to regulations.
• Participate in training, competency validation, and education programs.
